County governments give a property tax discount to homeowners who occupy their property as a primary residence. If your new home was your primary residence on January 1st, make sure that you are getting this discount.

Most GA counties have an April 1st deadline to apply, and you must file with the tax office of the county where you live in order to claim the benefit.
